Developing Renewables (IEA)

国際エネルギー機関 (IEA：International Energy Agency)から”Deploying Renewables”という報告書が 出ています。(http://www.iea.org/Textbase/press/pressdetail.asp?PRESS_REL_ID=271)
その中で、「CO2排出量を減らす為には全発電量の50%を再生可能エネルギ（Renewable Energy Sources）にする必要がある。そのためにはもっと政府が積極的に関与する必要がある」という様なことが書いてあります。

29 September 2008 Berlin --- The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that nearly 50% of global electricity supplies will have to come from renewable energy sources if we want to halve CO2 emissions by 2050 in order to minimise significant and irreversible climate change impacts. This is a huge challenge and part of the entire energy revolution we need to achieve. Meeting these very ambitious objectives will require unprecedented political commitment and effective policy design and implementation.

風力発電・太陽光発電等の再生可能エネルギは高い増加率を維持していますが、World Electricity Production by Energy Source(IEA,2004)によれば、全発電量に占める割合は1%しかありません。
（因みにCoal:40%,Gas：20%,Hydro:16%,Nuclear:16%,Oil:7%）それから考えるとIEAの言っている「50%」という数値を実現するには再生可能エネルギの発電量を増やすのはもちろんのこと、全発電量（17,408TWh）の伸びを抑制する必要もあるのだろうと考えます。
The Future of Energy(The Economist,June 21st 2008）にあるように2050年に必要電力量が現在の倍になれば再生可能エネルギの必要発電量は現在の100倍ほど必要になってしまいます（稼働率を考えると更にその倍程の発電所容量が必要！）。
